Starting the Journey Toward Healthy
I am unhealthy. That's difficult to write, but it's something that I need to acknowledge. I sit all day for work, eat a blend of okay foods and bad foods, and don't get much exercise. I have a Fitbit, and unless I go exercise, I get less than 3,000 steps a day. Personally, that's shameful. I am ashamed of that, but, it has been a cold and miserable winter, and I have been uninspired. If we really want to get full disclosure, here, I will also admit: I have PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome), which, among a slew of other fun symptoms, causes weight gain around the waist area. Eating junk food and being lazy has not helped that at all.
The cycle ends now.
What really should've started as a New Year's Resolution is only now just beginning. I am dedicating 3 evenings a week to the gym. I joined Weight Watchers. I am going to change my life and be healthy. My motivation stems from a cruise that I am going on in a month--literally, 30 days from now--but my hope is that it extends well past that.
I know this isn't going to be easy. It isn't just getting my body fit; it is training my mind to reach for the healthy options in life rather than my weakness: chocolate.
With that in mind, let the journey begin!
